The Oak Lawn Park District is now taking applications for Swim Lesson Instructors for the Indoor season which will run Sept. through May on Saturday’s at Richards High School. The Oak Lawn Park District swim program is based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Starting wage for Swim Lesson Instructors is 10.00 per hour for group lessons. Prior Swim knowledge is required and WSI Certification is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
- Friendly, outgoing personality, positive attitude and the ability to work well with others in a team oriented environment.
- Prior swim lessons teaching experience preferred.
- Must enjoy working with children.
- This position is responsible for the safety of the participants in their own class.
- Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time; remaining after class to answer participant and/or parent questions as needed, and clean up supplies.
- Instructs and evaluates students participating in swim lessons
- Submits completed report cards, skills sheets and attendance information on time.

We are looking for energetic individuals who are creative and can work with infants through toddlers and their parents. The Oak Lawn Park District swim program is based on the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Starting wage for Tot Swim Lesson Instructors is 10.00 per hour for group lessons. Prior Swim knowledge is preferred but not required and WSI Certification is a plus.

Community Pavilion
PART-TIME MAINTENANCE CUSTODIAN
The Part-Time Maintenance Custodian position is responsible for the cleaning and routine maintenance work in the Community Pavilion and its immediate surrounding grounds. The employee is under the direct supervision of the maintenance supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and basic tools.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.

- Essential Functions:
- Cleans and washes floors, walls, and windows.
- Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
- Empties waste and other thrash.
- Clean weight room equipment.
- Change Light Bulbs.
- Cleans adjacent grounds for litter and sweeps walks.
- Cleans and maintains locker and shower rooms including replenishing supplies.
- Act as a watchman when necessary.
- Submits daily check sheets of work performed.
- Setup and take down of volleyball equipment, tables, chairs, party rentals, and other programs as needed.
- Clean all gym courts and surrounding area.
- Obey and enforce rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Oak Lawn Park District.
- Performs other task as needed by Maintenance Supervisor.
Marginal Functions: - Moves furniture and equipment as needed.

- Shovels snow.
- Operates gas powered snow blower.
- Spreads salt on sidewalks.

- Custodian is exposed to outside weather conditions 10 percent of the time, including extreme heat and cold, snow, rain, and ice.
- Protective clothing is required as follows: ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, protective gloves, and protective equipment needed for specific job task.
- Worker is exposed to chemicals including but not limited to cleaning supplies, weed killers, oils, and gasoline.

Community Pavilion - Fitness Instructor **Ongoing Availability**
OVERVIEW
Responsible for providing group fitness classes that are organized and safe for all fitness participants and their varying level of physical fitness
DESCRIPTION
A Community Pavilion Fitness Instructor position is part time. The Fitness Instructor is to design and conduct classes that are in the best interest of the participants in a safe manner. The fitness instructor is to be outgoing and professional in order to effectively motivate participants. Instructor must also be able to teach hour long class without leaving and be able to sub other classes when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have one of the following Group Exercise Instructor Certifications: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NETA
Additional specialty / certifications preferred (Yoga, Zumba, Pilates, etc)
Maintain First Aid / CPR certification

ICE ARENA
- Zamboni Driver/Building Supervisor
The Oak Lawn Park District Ice Arena is seeking a responsible individual to operate the ice resurfacer and act as the building supervisor to provide the safest ice surface and facility possible.
This position requires the supervision of other part time staff. They will also conduct routine maintenance in and around the building in order to provide a safe and clean environment for the community to enjoy.
The workplace is moderate to very busy depending on the task and time of day.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older; possess strong leadership and problem solving skills. They must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License. High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants must be able to work independently.
Seeking ice arena/skating experience, mechanical experience, customer service experience, supervisory experience.
This is a part time position with a variety of shifts available to include nights and weekends. 15-20 hours per week.
Starting wage- $9.50 per hour for probationary period with potential for increase after approximately 90 days.

CONCESSION STAND ATTENDANT
The concession stand attendant is responsible for the preparation of food, cash handling, and cleanliness of the concession stand. Additional responsibilities include assisting with supply inventory and re-stocking. Customer service skills are essential to this position.

Part-time Freestyle Ice Monitor - Ice Arena
The Ice Monitors are responsible for enforcing the Code of Conduct and ensuring the safety of all skaters during Freestyle/practice skating sessions. Ice Monitors maintain attendance for sessions, and are responsible for payments and cash control procedures. Ice Monitors will make certain that participants respect all skaters, Ice Monitors and coaches, maintain ice when needed and allow the program skater to have the right-of-way to increase the safety of all participants. Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students and parents is essential.Must be able to: - provide exceptional customer service

SKATE GUARD
Applicants must have strong skating experience.
The skate guards are responsible for maintaining order and enforcing rules on and off the ice.
The skate guard is responsible for handing out skates and maintaining an organized atmosphere in the skate rental room.
The skate guard has a large amount of contact with the public.
Guards are also responsible for general custodial duties throughout the building during every shift.
Applicant must be able to work evenings and varied weekend shifts.
